ABOUT THE EVENT
Black Theatre Night is centered on reflection, conversation, and imagining what liberation can look like across generations while connecting to the Philadelphia premiere of Liberation by Bess Wohl! Through poetry, conversation, and freedom dreaming, BTN and its constituents will explore the legacy of the Combahee River Collective, whose groundbreaking 1977 statement on Black feminism and intersectionality expanded the fight for liberation beyond the movement depicted on stage. The evening will feature works, words, and performances from TS Hawkins, Jeannine Cook, and Dr. Michelle B. Taylor!
